Celebrate
Filipino independence at Pagdiriwang, the annual celebration
of the arts and culture of the Philippines. The festival
commemorates the end of Spanish rule in 1898 with
pageantry, music, dance, food, children’s activities,
drill teams, rock bands, exhibits and martial arts.
It also features contemporary Filipino literature,
performance and thought. To celebrate the 100th Anniversary
of the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition in 2009, the
BIBAK Association will showcase the IGORROTE VILLAGE:
Revisited, highlighting the true culture and history
of the Philippine mountain tribes - Benguet, Ifugao,
Bontoc, Apayao and Kalinga (BIBAK). Presented by the
Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washington.

Meet authors and poets. See historical materials and exhibits produced by several FANHS chapters. Take the tour of Filipino American historic sites in the Seattle area. Learn how to document oral history and family genealogy. Enjoy the artistry of Filipino American plays, musicians and other performers. View selected films by Filipino American film makers or about the Filipino American experience. Visit the National Pinoy Archives. Reminisce about the First Young Filipino Peoples Far West Convention at the pre-conference Far West Reunion.

Seward Park, Seattle WA
A town festival
celebrating neighbors, family and friends. It is now
the largest outdoor Filipino American event in the
country held at Seward Park. Pista is a Seafair-sponsored
community event in one of the City of Seattle's pristine
parks along Lake Washington. The park has 300 acres
of beautiful forest land, a 2.4 mile bike/walking
path, an amphitheater, art studio and more.

FPAC - Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture
Point Fermin Park, San Pedro CA
The
19th edition of this popular tradition. The largest
Filipino arts and cultural celebration of Modern and
Traditional Filipino Music, Dance, Art, Film and Food
in Southern California. The festival is completely
community producted, depending on the hard work and
determination of volunteers to make this annual gathering
possible.
