APRIL 4-6—PhilFest, Tampa, FL

PHILFEST, short for "Philippine Festival" is one of the major Filipino events in the Tampa Bay Area. It is held annually during the first week of April, usually lasting a whole weekend, as it attempts to emulate the joyful celebrations of a typical Philippine Fiesta.

Cost: Tickets will be $5 and will be $6 at the gate.

JULY 3-5Filipino American National Historical Society 12th Biennial Conference; Anchorage, AK

FANHS will host this extraordinary event in Anchorage, Alaska where the currents of Pinoy history run strong and the depth of our pride runs deep. From canneries to communities and from family to industry, for over a century Alaska has been a bridge and cornerstone to the wandering spirits deep inside countless Filipino souls. JUNE 7-8Pagdiriwang Philippine Festival; Seattle Center House, Seattle WA

Celebrate Filipino independence at Pagdiriwang Philippine Festival the annual celebration of the arts and culture of the Philippines. The festival commemorates the end of Spanish rule in 1898 with pageantry, music, dance, food, children’s activities, drill teams, rock bands, exhibits and martial arts. Rich colors, authentic food and special honors pay tribute to the contributions by those of Filipino descent in the community. Presented by the Filipino Cultural Heritage Society of Washington.

JULY 27—Pista Sa Nayon; Seward Park Seattle WA

A “town festival” celebrating neighbors, family and friends. It is now the largest outdoor Filipino American event in the country held at Seward Park. Pista is a Seafair-sponsored community event in one of the City of Seattle's pristine parks  along Lake Washington. The park has 300 acres of beautiful forest land, a 2.4 mile bike/walking path, an amphitheater, art studio and more.

AUGUST 9-10—Pistahan, Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, San Francisco CA

The two-day 14th annual Pistahan—all family-friendly with an inimitable Filipino-American flair, is the largest festival of the season. Pistahan features seven pavilions and several stages highlighting music, dance, art, crafts, cuisine, artifacts, and a special trade expo featuring products unique to the Philippines: mother of pearl, bamboo, coconut, Philippine mahogany, marble, pineapple fiber and more. Spend the day enjoying the many attractions, displays, crafts, entertainment and native food.
